Comcast Cable Internet Service

Interested in trying Comcast Cable for your internet service provider?  Great speeds and reasonable prices make this a great choice.  I personally have experienced relatively few problems with Comcast since my major technical malfunctions have been corrected.  Upon moving to the house where I now live, the first six months of my service was free.  Yes that is right it was free.  I had service technicians at my house almost daily.  Why was this occurring you ask?  I could not stay online more than a few mere minutes!  This was completely unacceptable; I do not care how good they think their introductory offer is.

After the service technicians started refusing to come to my home because there was nothing further that they could do, the boom trucks started arriving.  After 3 days of boom trucks in my yard and combing the neighborhood to determine the problem, they finally decided that the drop line running across the street to service my street was the problem.  So upon changing that one line, as well as the couplings to connect that line I have remained online happily ever since.

Occasional outages do occur, however those are rare and do not last long.  I am an internet addict unfortunately, I spend way too much time online, and I cannot handle being disconnected from the internet for more than a few minutes at a time.  I start to have withdrawal symptoms and spastics.

I will give the nice tech guys credit; they did their best to figure out the problem before refusing to come out.  They happily gave me six modems, a new drop line from the road to my house, twice.  Put a plastic housing cover over the outside connections where it branches off to go to various parts of the house.  Replaced all the t connectors, and cable wires running through out the whole entire house.  Ran a whole separate line just for my modem and came out on an almost daily basis to do further testing in an attempt to find the problems.

After all the hassles of the time spent on the phone, waiting around on the tech guys, all the time spent with the tech guys at my house ripping out wires, replacing modems, changing settings and everything else under the sun they did, I at least got a great credit on my service for it.  Since my problems have been resolved I have been very happy with the service, my only wish is it was faster.  I have 8MB service, and I just wish it was quicker.  However, 8MB service is typically fast enough for most normal internet users desires ever.

Comcast typically runs promotions for new customers where you can get the 6MB service for $19.99 a month for the first 3-6 months and the 8MB service for $29.99 a month for the first 3-6 months.  I choose to go this route, and am still getting the discounted price almost a year later since I had so many problems with my service in the beginning.  I have spent the last four months at this residence happily online which is where I intend to stay.  While their customer service reps are not the most computer savvy, at least I know enough to troubleshoot the most basic stuff myself.  However, they are one of the few companies in my area to offer the speeds they do at their price.  I wish fios was available, its speeds are incredible, however I will happily deal with my 8MB service from Comcast.
