For the beginner starting out photography can be very difficult to grasp the hang on.  Most beginners have no clue about f-stops, lighting, flashes, lenses, zoom, or anything else.  They simply purchase a camera and begin taking pictures.  However, photography is so much more than just simply taking some pictures.  We are going to discuss the three main types of lighting situations that exist in photography so that you will have an idea of what your lighting conditions are, and this will help you in selecting the appropriate flashes and other lighting equipment that you need.

Have you desired to have a digital photograph with the old pictures you have around the house?  There are several ways to change regular pictures into a digital format.  We are going to discuss the various ways to make a digital image, without using a digital camera.  Most of the methods I am going to outline are able to easily take the photographs you already have and convert them to a digital format.  The most obvious way to obtain a digital photograph is through the use of a digital camera; however, that will not solve your problem for older photographs. 

Many people in their quest to find the perfect camera are often confused by the seemingly similarities that optical zoom and digital zoom create.  While they are very similar, they offer great differences.  Not all cameras offer both zooms; however before you buy a camera, you need to determine which zoom you are more concerned with, as it relates to your pictures you want to take. 

We are going to take a moment to discuss for the beginning photographer exactly how the different directions light comes from affects your pictures.  Depending upon the direction it can either enhance your pictures, or it can destroy the image.  If you understand what the different lighting directions can do to your image you will become better at selecting the direction that will enable your picture to look its best. 

As each aspiring photographer knows, there are many types of equipment that exist that you need to wade through before you find the perfect camera and accessories.  We are going to cover the basic list of items that you need this is not all-inclusive; some can be omitted depending upon what you want your camera for.
